About

Transportpolicy.org is an independent international web based platform for information and discussions on the theory and best practices in transport in general. We consider as important the need to establish a professional area for experts from government, industry, voluntary organisations and the public from Bulgaria and all over the glob where they could share their concerns of transport policy for free, providing independent, original and rigorous analysis to understand how policy decisions have been taken, monitor their effects, and suggest how they may be improved

Our aim is to present the transport sector comprehensively, including all modes: land, sea and air; road and rail; public and private; motorised and non-motorised; passenger and freight, basically in Bulgaria, but and in the other parts of the world where the Bulgarian transport business and policy are presented. It is recognised that policy concerns in transport have to be very wide, to cover safety, efficiency, economic development, local and global environmental impact, energy, land-use, equity and access for the widest range of travellers with special needs.

For us it is important to give special priority to understanding the nature and influences affecting policy change, including technical, attitudinal, institutional, structural and political constraints. Detailed local and sectoral case studies will be recorded, with an emphasis on policy and management implications.

This platform is an open area for all experts and organizations involved in the transportation process, directly or indirectly, which are interested in sharing their experience and assessments. To make this to be convenient to all of you we are ready to consider all your ideas and suggestions for improving the functionality of the platform.
